Cyclone People

00:00 / 01:04

Prime Location:

Other Names:

Tribal Affiliation: Shawnee, Lenape

AKA: Kako-u'hthé

Bodies eternally twisting, colored gray and brown by the dirt and debris they take up, the Cyclone People have human male or female shapes, their hair ending in tornado tendrils, their forms entirely composed of wind; the beings have no requirements for life, aside from the meeting of warm, moist air and cool, dry air. A neutral, even occasionally benevolent being, Cyclone Men and Cyclone Women do not seek to harm humans, though they unintentionally do so from time to time.

Cyclone People are dwarfed by their long, braided or loose hair, which swirls, kissing the ground and wrecking havoc with great strength and speed. The rebirth of these elementals are preceded by dramatic thunderstorms: hail, high winds, dark, threatening clouds, and flashing lightning. If one looks above the tendrils of a tornado, high into the clouds, a gentle face and strong body may be spotted. When the storm and winds die down, the Cyclone Person dissipates into countless pieces of air, coming together once more…
